The department has been furnished with latest version equipment. The department encloses a Model Pharmaceutical Company which has a wide set of manufacturing equipments and machines. This offers the students and any visitors a great idea about Industrial Pharmacy when they go out after their course.

Pharmaceutics is the one of the major discipline in pharmacy that deals with all facts of the process of turning a new chemical entity into a medication able to safely and effectively use by patients. The department of pharmaceutics regarded as an important one in teaching and research of drug formulations, drug delivery and biopharmaceutical assessment. It included the design, preparation, formulations and assessing of drug release studies of sustained release, controlled release, targeted drug delivery system.

The Model Pharmaceutical Company provides a complete practical knowledge about operating machines like rotary tablet compression machine, driers, mills, blenders, collapsible tube filling machine, blister packing machine, tablet coating machine, ampoule filling and sealing machine.

PHARMACOLOGY:

We have our pharmacology lab well-structured with organ baths and instruments for dissection and analysis of laboratory animals. A clean and hygienic atmosphere has been created for the students in the laboratory. There is a collection of all categories of drugs available in Indian and international market in the drug museum. There will be replacement of products periodically to ensure updating of knowledge by the students. Pharmacology is a lively scientific discipline in its own right, with an importance beyond that of providing a basis for the use of drugs.

The department provides a vibrant and self-motivated environment for conducting high quality research and teaching in the field of pharmacology and toxicology. There is a strong and growing research environment in the department covering a wide range of research areas including psychopharmacology, neuropharmacology, gastrointestinal pharmacology, toxicology etc. The department aspires to conduct independent and reciprocated research in pharmacology and enforcement of the disciplines of pharmacology as an integral part in the medical field. The important aspect of our teaching is combined with research which helps the next generation scientists.

PHARMACOGNOSY:

The Pharmacognosy laboratory has museum of raw and natural medicinal plants and herbs for view and learning of the students. Standardization, preparation and formulation of new natural medicines involving new breeds of plants and herbs are undertaken by the Pharmacognosy lab.

Plants are the major source of the natural products that have played vital roles in providing both food and drug materials. The aim and objective of the courses given by the department is to acquaint the students with the basic knowledge of the natural products. Students engaged in pharmacy and in other health professionals should know the role of natural products in discovery of drugs and their use and application in eradicating ailments. The students are given sufficient knowledge to be able to describe morphology and histology of different plant organs and identify drugs in the whole state and in powdered condition with suitable examples of medicinal plants. The students are reinforcing the knowledge of study of plant constituents and its isolation, identification, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, medicinal use and scale up process.
